Perth’s favorite indie-punk rockers Lionizer team up with Melbourne’s Whisk & Key Records for the release of their brand new single “Notice Me Senpai”.
Written during the 9-month recording sessions that produced Lionizer’s debut album New Parts of Me (released through Whisk & Key in October 2017). The song was recorded completely DIY by the band in sunny, downtown Como; fuelled by discount biscuits and energy drinks which are now banned in the Australian Market.
The new track is summed up by the band as:
“The audio equivalent of that scene from Cool Runnings where Yul and Junior look in the mirror and yell “I see pride, I see power, I see a badass mother who don’t take no crap off nobody!” over and over.”
In short, it’s about those times when you need to look in the mirror and tell yourself that you matter.
