Feeding Two Wolves with Portland Band Roman

Kings of Leon aren’t the only siblings in a band making great music. Enter Portland Folk-Pop trio, Roman.
The beginning of the video for “The Way I Dream” caught my attention immediately. It kept me engaged with a simple concept and a synth wave color scheme.
The songs feel relaxed yet full of something deeper that unfolds with multiple listens. It feels similar to Bright Eyes or The Shins. This is super high quality folk pop that is eerily reminiscent of Elliott Smith.
This is a genre I don’t see enough of lately. The songs are relatively simple and easy to listen to. As with all folk-adjacent music, the lyrics are where the power is.
