Seeing Double is a rock band from Oneonta, New York. They formed in March of 2021 and started building a solid fanbase in their small upstate town when word spread about their high energy live shows.
The band has just released their first double single “Leah”/”Don’t Wait”.
Their sound definitely channels some 70’s rock icons like Fleetwood Mac. But there are certainly more modern influences I noticed like The Stills and Rilo Kiley (Jenny Lewis).
The band uses twin harmonies on their vocals and I find that makes for a much fuller sound overall. There is so much soul in the vocal performances, it’s hard to believe these kids are only college age.
“Don’t Wait” is a bit more of a straight forward pop rock song with a chorus that you’re required to scream at the top of your lungs when you see them live.
This band is clearly having fun playing music together and isn’t that the whole point? The passion and joy they have for music translates when you’re listening and that’s a rare thing to find.
If you became a fan of Magic Finger after seeing them on our blog, you will undoubtedly enjoy Seeing Double.
