We met Matt Charleston at the very beginning of 2021, when he released his debut album, Songs For the Weekend.
He was actually the first artist on Teal Cheese this year.
Charleston is someone who tries to challenge himself with every project he starts. An admirable quality that has only served him well thus far.
His new single, “Crazy”, was originally supposed to be included in the Songs For the Weekend track list. Always his own harshest critic, he decided to delay this track so that he could work on vocal production and performance. Simply put, he knew he could do better.
Luke O’Kelley (drums), Charles Wilkinson (bass), and Zac Yeo (mastering) joined Charleston in the studio to record and perfect “Crazy”.
Capturing the vibe of walking through the woods/camping with multiple layers of production, “Crazy” tells the story of longing to have someone back after they’ve moved on. It’s clear that he puts off of himself into his music. No emotion is held back.
Charleston is planning to release an EP titled Home on 12/20/21.
