Cat Evers is an alternative R&B artist from Malibu who is now living in New York.
She studied at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.
She cites some of her influences as BANKS, Adele and Hayley Williams.
Evers released her debut single, “The Weight” just one year ago, during quarantine.
Her new single “Patience” was recorded at Liquid Sounds Studio in Brooklyn.
The synths or keyboard that drive the instrumental almost sound like distorted organs. The dream-like vibe reminds me a bit of GLASWING.
There is tons of soul poured into “Patience”, you can almost hear Evers closing her eyes and channeling her emotions.
The slow and steady pace of the song hints at some jazz and blues influence.
As the track goes on, the atmospheric vibe strengthens and it begins to feel like floating in space.
The breakdown that starts around the 2:00 mark surprised me and made this single infinitely more interesting to a progressive rock fan like myself.
