GROZ is a singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles, California.
She studied music and earned a singer/songwriter degree from Berklee College of Music.
After college, GROZ took some time to explore different genres and forms of artistic expression.
She began to solidify herself in the industry and established a fanbase with her debut music video, “Dark Blue Sea” in 2016.
On “Save Me” she channels the turbulence of her childhood into her art. It’s been said that GROZ begins every songwriting session with lyrics. Nowhere is that more evident than on this new single.
The video begins with GROZ in the middle of some type of stone arches. The architecture looks almost Roman and doesn’t really match it’s surroundings. I was immediately intrigued.
The dark and heavy imagery in the video (including plague doctor masks) evenly balances what is at times a fairly bright and pop oriented song.
Buried beneath the layer of dark pop lies a tiny bit of country/blues influence.
The chorus has a huge, almost alt rock type vibe and the bridge gives us a glimpse of the true rock star that she truly is.
“The constant feeling of being lost and fear of being forgotten inspired this single. My past dictating my actions and owning too much of who I am. Desperately wanting someone to walk into my life and make it all better, but knowing I am the one who needs to save myself. Nobody else can do it but me.” – GROZ
