V. Christie (born Vebjørn Christie) is a DJ/producer from Norway.
He got into music at an extremely young age, beginning to experiment with music production while only in elementary school.
In 2018, V. Christie and Virani founded Figurati Collective: a label/group of friends that focuses on music, photography, visual design and more.
Before this album even came out, he had already begun to reach huge milestones like racking up 1.25 million streams on Spotify.
Future bass, house, trap, and dubstep are a few of the sub genres that V. Christie explores on his maiden voyage.
Christie’s debut album Voices is 100% self produced, mixed and mastered. True to it’s title, the record begins with a vocal sample of what sounds like an air traffic controller. It’s clear from the first minute of the first track that this entire release is going to be an epic journey.
There are moments where we find hyperpop influence peeking out, like on the track “Minute”.
Every drop on this release is unique. Things never quite seem to happen the way you think they’re going to. If you are looking for something more experimental and unexpected, try “Paramount” (track 6).
The soulful vocals on “Coming Back” really flesh out the track to become a certified pop banger.
There are moments of glitchy synth plucks throughout the album, but Christie always finds a strong balance to avoid losing the flow of the tracks.
The mixing and mastering is damn near flawless. The more you listen, the more impressive it becomes. This sounds like it was done by an absolute veteran.
There are a few strategically placed vocal samples on this record and each one is a perfect complement to the track it inhabits.
