Parris Mitchell is a New York based singer/songwriter. He is a part of a rock band called Night Without Cars who has opened for huge acts such as Switchfoot and Gavin DeGraw.
The pandemic forced him to step away from touring with the band and he used his newfound free time to jump start a solo project.
His new single, “charger” is his third solo release and has more of a dream pop atmosphere. The song is laid back as is the delivery. Mitchell incorporates subtle moments of R&B influence into this otherwise mainstream pop song.
The infectious melody and ulta catchy chorus result in a huge win for Mitchell. Seriously, if this isn’t stuck in your head after a few listens, I’d be surprised.
The track has a fairly simple instrumental that lets Mitchell’s vocals take the driver’s seat. His performance is understated and shows that he is capable of taking the pop music playbook and turning it upside down.
