Rohna is a 4-piece alternative rock band from Tampa, Florida.
Their goal as a unit is to inspire positive change and create meaningful connections with their listeners.
The band formed in 2019 and quickly released their debut album, The Beautiful Ordinary, independently. They took their fate into their own hands even further in early 2020 and booked themselves an East Coast tour.
Rohna just dropped their new single “Renew”.
It’s the perfect combination of indie rock vocal delivery and math rock riffs.
The melody and atmospheric tone reminds me a lot of Receiving End of Sirens.
A 90’s grunge influence peeks out during the chorus and the last breakdown.
The lyrics reflect the chaotic and uncertain year we all just went through with lines like “slowly letting go/all of what we know.”
This is yet another true DIY release by Rohna. “Renew” was produced and mixed by the band themselves.
That speaks volumes because in my opinion the mix on this new single is already lightyears ahead of the LP.
Like any great band, Rohna are improving quickly and I’m excited to see their live show, hopefully later this year.
