Nydia is a producer from Phoenix, Arizona who specializes in lo-fi and boom-bap.
She’s been making music since 2018 and her persistence has landed her among Brunch Collect and RAW Life collectives, to name a few.
In just a few short years, she has managed to release four albums and countless singles and EP’s. Saying that she’s working hard is barely doing the output justice.
At the time of writing this, she is at the threshold of 20,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. With so much music in the world, that’s no easy feat.
Her new track “Pure Romance” has already earned a spot on the Life in Lo-Fi compilation (Gateway Records):
To describe Nydia’s music in one word; it’s therapy. More often than ever we’re all forgetting to stop and slow down. “Pure Romance” and Nydia’s entire catalog will force you to take a deep breath and collect yourself.
Her specific brand of Lo-Fi has a jazz feel to it that seems to be a common thread throughout each track.
As I was listening to Nydia’s 2020 album Moonstone I started to notice my anxiety fading and my mood improving. Her songs are the perfect thing to get you through another shift working from home or just cleaning your house.
Each track is unique, which is something we don’t often see with Lo-Fi specifically. I highly recommend giving some of Nydia’s albums a listen through. The songs are masterfully crafted, no sound going to waste.
Each project paints a vivid picture and began to feel like a soundtrack after a while. This is the type of music that makes your imagination come alive for the first time in years.
