Jack Waugh is a guitarist/vocalist based in Washington DC. He studied jazz guitar and graduated with a BFA from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in 2017.
He just released his debut single, “Autobiography”, which is mainly about his personal struggles with Lyme disease.
The song was co-produced in his home studio by childhood friend Jack Gruber.
From the very beginning of the song I felt a strong 90’s rock vibe.
There’s something about the melody and delivery that’s nostalgic.
The emotion behind the lyrics isn’t overstated or theatrical. Instead, Waugh seems to open up completely behind the mic and give us a quick glimpse into his life.
Waugh’s performance feels genuine and his smooth vocals steer you through this rather long ballad.
If you like Foo Fighters or 3 Doors Down, this is absolutely for you.
“I play music because it’s able to transcend societal barriers and take listeners, as well as myself, to a place of unity and infinite consciousness.” – Jack Waugh
