Wave Mage is a multi genre producer who was born in Ohio and raised in Florida.
The Wave Mage project started as an experiment in sound manipulation.
He has often collaborated with The Glow of Streetlights, Centaur Sapien (Omniswag producer), and Crickets Make Math (guitar stem on Track 1).
All were once a part of indie hip-hop group Siracha Chakra.
The title of Wave Mage’s new album, Omniswag represents the “unspoken swag that resides in all of us”.
“I started making instrumental music as my own form of therapy. It’s such a creative way to release anything you don’t know how to put into words. Words are definitely sloppy sometimes and more restricting compared to art. Expression is everything when you can’t think of anything to say.” – Wave Mage
This album is a true journey coming in at 28 tracks.
I know most people disregard ambient music because they think it’s boring. Wave Mage is here to prove to you how untrue that is.
Omniswag is calming overall. The synths drip with a type of venom that won’t harm you, and instead help you to deal with some of the mental baggage you’ve been carrying around.
Every song is simple in it’s own right yet interesting and fluid. The tracks move into each other fairly seamlessly making for an easy listen all the way through despite the sheer number of songs.
Wave Mage is an expert at creating ambience. There’s an industrial feel throughout the LP, especially when it comes to some of the drums.
This is what happens when vaporwave meets trap.
