I was introduced to Madison Olds last summer and to be honest I was a fan immediately. Her music is polished and infectious while still being honest and interesting. So far, every track she’s released has had massive replay value.
While 2020 was a hard year for all of us, Maddie took advantage of all the newfound time on her hands and put out 5 singles, all of which are fantastic.
Her newest single, “Sorry” is an unexpected ballad featuring Josh Ronen.
If I had to guess who this was just based off a blind first listen, I would 100% guess Ellie Goulding or Halsey.
The song is about a couple who were deeply in love at one point, but know it’s time to call it quits. The male/female back and forth doesn’t seem like a forced trope here, instead it feels really genuine. The song definitely strikes an emotional chord with it’s minimal instrumental, letting the vocals shine.
Olds and Ronen’s voices compliment each other beautifully and create an emotional and relatable song that I have currently had on repeat all night.
There’s no doubt in my mind that 2021 will be the year Madison Olds blows up and we hear her music in major movies and television. I couldn’t be more excited for her and to hear what she has in store next.
