Signs of Progress is a Pop punk band from Gainesville, Florida. The group was originally started by multi-instrumentalist Jarred McKinney.
The band was first known as When Men and Mountains Meet and changed names in 2014.
McKinney came from a metal/hardcore background and made the decision to shift to pop-punk with this project.
After some line up changes, the band enlisted the vocals of Long Island’s Sage Viscovi via an online audition.
The band just released their debut EP, Safe Haven and it’s an expert fusion of all the things that made New Found Glory and Paramore so great.
Fast paced drums that give Travis Barker a run for his money with infectious melodies to match.
It’s rare in 2021 to hear music that inspires fun, but Signs of Progress are making exactly that.
If you listen to this EP with your eyes closed you will be instantly transported to Warped Tour in Florida. The sun beating down, the sweaty crowd yelling the words to their favorite song. If that sounds like a fond memory to you, this is a band you need to check out.
As a unit, they have clearly perfected anthemic pop punk and I can only hope concerts become an option again soon so I can see this band live.
Their newest music video “Bones Exposed” is a self directed effort, edited by Patrikk Hammer and shot in Gainesville.
Safe Haven was mixed, mastered and produced by Lee Dyess (Mayday Parade, From First to Last).
