Tokyo Rat is producer from Vancouver, Canada. On an extended writing retreat in Hawaii he came across a fellow producer by the name of Aeroviper on Instagram. The two quickly connected and began sending stems back and forth and collaborating on this track.
They definitely did justice to the feeling of riding through Japan on a super fast motorcycle. After sampling a real Yakuza-Police bust in Osaka, the song earned it’s name.
Often times, with Outrun, artists seem to play it safe. I feel like that’s exactly what these two didn’t do, and it paid off.
“Osaka Heat” brings a fresh and slightly aggressive take on the Outrun sub-genre of Synthwave.
There’s a really nice synth melody that comes in about halfway through.
Be cautious listening to this single while you’re driving. It’s highly likely you’ll end up speeding and the police sirens in the song are bound to trick you.
