Quiet Like a Thief is a Boston/Long Island pop punk band.
Lead vocalist Alex Kouvaris’ world got turned upside down when his father passed away from COVID-19 this year.
I, too, have lost my father so naturally I gravitated toward this release, as it serves as a memorial for Alex’s dad and tugs at the heartstrings of any listener.
“Due to COVID-19, my father was unable to have a proper wake or funeral. We were forced to host a service via Zoom, and there was absolutely no closure. I wrote this song for him, and my band has shot an incredible music video as a tribute to honor the kind of man he was.” explains Alex.
This single, along with 5 other songs that will fill up a later release, were produced, mixed and mastered by Alan Day of Four Year Strong.
This song, especially the chorus, bring me back to the days of seeing New Found Glory live at House of Blues. There’s a quality in QLAT music that makes you want to throw your arm around someone’s shoulder while scream-singing at a show.
Although the subject matter here is definitely heavy, this song has a hopeful and optimistic tone that serves as catharsis for Alex as well as anyone deeply listening.
