Sound Photographers is a Philadelphia based alt-hop duo. The two met at a show in 2017 and they have been creating together and carving their name into the underground music scene ever since.
Their first single “Shade” sounds more like a traditional indie song to me. It’s something I could definitely imagine being in a Wes Anderson type film.
They just released their newest track, “Shadows” and it feels significantly darker and moodier.
In the groups’ own words: “Shadows” serves as a tribute to artists who do it all and an homage to the importance of creativity in life.“
The track starts with the chant “We can’t go out so let’s stay here” which sums up how all of us are feeling by the end of 2020.
The fusion of smooth soul vocals (Indy James) with traditional hip-hop style verses (Hoozmo) in a style not dissimilar to Big Boi of Outkast.
There are definitely R&B and world music influences injected on this single.
