Orlando Pop punk/emo act Magnolia Park dropped their new single, “Sick of it All” today. This is the first single off their upcoming EP, Orange Tape.
The song is about “being tired of the world around you and how you’re being treated”. What better time than now to release a track with that sentiment?
“Sick of it All” has a super clean sound. Due in part to being produced by Andrew Wade (A Day to Remember, Neck Deep).
The video is great, beginning with the band in hospital gowns being handed their instruments. As it goes on we learn that the guys are being monitored and are seemingly part of an experiment.
A heavy driving bass line stands out from the very beginning. The vocals are powerful but not overwhelming to the accompanying instruments.
It’s definitely catchy. I can totally picture screaming this chorus at the top of my lungs while I’m sunburned at Warped Tour.
There’s a sense of urgency that I haven’t really heard since the Taking Back Sunday/Senses Fail era of pop punk.
I’m excited to see what else Magnolia Park has in store for us on the Orange Tape EP.
