I Met a Yeti is a 5-piece post hardcore band from Orlando, Florida. They have a brand new single out called “All Magic Users Swim in the Loomy Gloom”.
The song is part of the band’s upcoming EP release, titled Camp Yeti, set to be released on October 4th, 2019. The single is titled after an Adventure Time quote. It takes place at the end of a relationship, birthed from a love spell. The lyrics explore the idea of the spell (and the love of the relationship) inevitably decaying and a witch’s bitter premonitions coming to be.
Vocalist Daisy Chamberlain had this to say about the new track:
“All Magic Users Swim In The Loom Gloom is from the perspective of a woman feeling a love spell she has been under begin to decay and its effects fading.
As it wears off, she begins to see their relationship for what it really is. She sees her partner as someone so desperate to keep her as the ideal they had imagined her to be that they have elicited magic to blind her.
As the spell dies, the magic turns on its user – and their victim like thorns of roses piercing them, making their relationship unsustainable.”
The upcoming Camp Yeti EP is five tracks, portraying the story that the Yeti is telling his camp scouts that is depicted on the EP cover art.
I Met A Yeti is set to tour in October for the EP’s release, as well as playing Plus Fest 2 (featuring The Speed of Sound in Seawater and many more).
