Flip Rushmore is a Minneapolis band who released their debut single, “DDT”, a few months ago. They have a new single out today and a full-length album coming this year.
Nobody said it out loud, but the old band broke up. The singer moved to Nashville. The guitarist wandered into a cubicle. The bassist joined other bands. And a particularly cursed lineup of drummers disappeared, one by one, to the far reaches of the globe: South America, Northwestern Minnesota, etc.
The group of early-20-somethings persevered. Alex Smith, Dan Klauer and Nick Spielman managed to track down a new drummer, Adam Szczepaniak (Tired Tongues), a producer, Corey Hess (More Than Lights), and piece together an album in Brooklyn Center over the course of 18 months.
“That Hollow Sound” is the band’s brand new single which premiered on Minnesota’s leading AAA radio station, The Current. The digital music release is available (along with a radio edit) on Spotify, Soundcloud, Bandcamp and all other major websites and services.
