I’m sure by now we’re all used to history repeating itself, especially when it comes to movies. For any kid who grew up in the 90’s the movie adaptation of Tomb Raider starring Angelina Jolie didn’t really do the game series justice.
The first installment of the video game series was released in 1996 on PC, PlayStation, and Sega Saturn.
Not only did Tomb Raider get praise from critics as one of the best games ever but it sold more than 7.5 million copies worldwide.
Now, more than two decades later there is a new Lara Croft and an opportunity for the franchise to shine again. Swedish actress Alicia Vikander
will be taking over the role in the new film which will be directed by Roar Uthaug (The Wave).
It’s slated for a March 2018 release and the hype is starting early with this trailer that dropped yesterday:
