MY 10 FAVORITE ALBUMS: the SIR band

This band is a part of the new frontier of pop music in my mind. The sound is definitely reminiscent of something like Halsey but has enough depth to remain in a league of it’s own.
Sarah’s vocals will pull you in and Luke and Kim’s rhythm section will keep you in a trance. This is one of those new bands you can’t afford NOT to listen to.
I spoke with the trio about the albums that they will always have a place for in their hearts:

Phantogram – Three
“The three of us fell in love with this album at the same time. We’ve always been big fans of Phantogram, but this album has been so inspiring. They have the perfect mix of lyrics, melodies, and instrumentation. We can relate to so much of their music- including the loss and death of loved ones.”

Brand New – Deja Entendu
“Raw, dark with lyrical genius in every song.”

Beyonce – Lemonade
“The visual album was absolutely amazing. Every song on the album touches a different genre. We loved feeling the emotion behind every song, especially “Don’t Hurt Yourself” featuring Jack White, which we covered last year.”

Jimmy Eat World – Bleed American
“Every song was just so good. Their lyrical rawness and catchy guitar hooks are what we strive for.”

Purity Ring – Another Eternity
“Love the creepy lyrics and her voice. We’ve seen them a few times and every time they kill it.”

Third Eye Blind – Third Eye Blind
“Luke has been a fan for a long time, but last year we all saw them perform at Life is Beautiful and we were so impressed. They put on an awesome show, but even more than that, they use their platform to talk about things that really matter in life.”

Alanis Morissette – Jagged Little Pill
“One of the most amazing things about Alanis is her ability to convey emotion through her voice. Her songwriting, even from her very first album, was so inspirational.”

Dashboard Confessional – MTV Unplugged Album
“Dashboard has always been such a staple.”

Post Malone – Stoney
“This guy is what I’ve been looking for in R&B and Hip Hop. He is real and knows how to relate.”

LP – Lost On You
“She’s got all of that lezzy swagger and she’s my favorite voice right now.”
