Indie hip hop heavyweight, Aesop Rock released the video for the first song off his long awaited new album the other day.
This is the first we’re hearing from him in nearly four years. His last album, Skelethon peaked on the Billboard Top 200 at #21 in it’s debut week in July 2013.
Other than that, he toured a little for his side project with Kimya Dawson, The Uncluded back in 2013.
During his tour for Skelethon that same year Aesop had most of his touring equipment stolen. He began to release limited edition artwork to fund buying all new equipment and keep his career moving.
Even after a long break from releasing music, he remains one of the only emcees to focus on writing complex and thought provoking lyrics.
After a few long, difficult years, he’s finally back on the scene with a new single and upcoming album, The Impossible Kid, that will be released via Rhymesayers Entertainment on April 29, 2016.
