Planitia is the latest project from award winning songwriter Danny James. Featuring elegant, grooving beats fueled by catchy hooks and captivating vocal melodies Planitia is a far cry from his previous music releases.
After spending years in the metal/rock community and going in and out of countless bands Danny was ready for something different.
This project started off as an exercise in songwriting but has quickly developed into a full time endeavor. After consulting with the management team at Brave Development & Consulting Danny decided to pursue the project full time and the debut album was written.
Having seen Danny play in so many bands before this project, the final product of Planitia surprised me even more. I always knew that he was influenced by bands like Dear Hunter and as I had assumed, he is fully capable of creating something totally unique using those influences.
Planitia is more along the lines of TV on the Radio than Underoath. This was a big step for James and one that definitely paid off. The sound is largely R&B infused and has some major dark pop/dance floor vibes reminiscent of She Wants Revenge at times.
This is definitely the type of music Danny was meant to create and it seems like he is finding comfort in doing something bold and new.
“Soothsayer” is the first single off the upcoming album. Written, recorded and produced at the Brave Dev:Con facility in Naples, Florida by Danny James and Finn Adu.
