Emarosa have released the second single off of their upcoming album 131, due out July 8th. The track is called “Helpless” and charts bold new sonic territory for the band. Driven by pulsing synth, a groovy main guitar riff, and pounding drums, the track sounds as if the infectious grooves of The 1975 spent a summer on Warped Tour and were given a hard rock makeover. While some fans of Emarosa’s old sound might be surprised by the change of pace, the band has moved on to wider sonic pastures, and the result is one of their best and most catchy songs to date. If “Helpless” and “Cloud 9” are any indication, the band is about to make a big leap forward with 131.
