The count down to Shaky Beats 2016 begins with our first artist feature! In fact, to kick off our series we get a two for one! Hot off the success of their hit I’m in Control featuring Popcaan, the Bristish electronic duo, AlunaGeorge, have hooked up with ZHU for the track My blood.
The song is slow. Yet, the heavy hip-hop influenced beats combined with Aluna Francis’ unmistakable voice make for an incredible tune. ZHU‘s contribution to the track brings effects that just add to the level of emotion this song evokes. ZHU featured AlunaGeorge on his track Automatic from his Genesis Series, an EP which boasted names such as Skrillex, Gallant, and Bone Thugs.
AlunaGeorge first caught my attention in 2013 when they were featured on White Noise, a banger from another London bred duo, Disclosure. AlunaGeorge, consisting of Aluna Francis and George Reid, have been garnering much attention stateside as they gear up for their North American summer tour. The tour includes dates ranging from festivals and smaller venues with the required quick trip to Glastonbury stuck in the middle. Their second studio album I Remember is due for a mid-2016 release.
