After Pierce the Veil released “Collide with the Sky” in July of 2012 there has been some sort of rumor every year since then of new music. They have finally announced the release date of their new album “Misadventures” which is due May 13th. Listening to their new song I can’t help but wonder if they will ever sound any different from album to album. It’s good, it’s catchy, but that’s about it. While I can play their music pretty consistently when I’m driving in my car, it’s not a band I want to hear over and over again. Once again, being pushed by big corporations, it seems as if Pierce the Veil have become the poster child for institutions like AP and Warped Tour. While this might not be a bad thing, it’s unfortunate to see them go this route.

Other than one song “The Divine Zero” which was released in June of 2015, This is the first song we have heard from them in over three years. Listen to “Texas is Forever” and “The Divine Zero” below. Like I said, the new single is good, but let’s hope there are more songs that sound similar to the latter.
