Orlando Producer/DJ, Quarterjack released his debut LP today.
There are obvious elements of glitchhop, tech house, drum n bass, and pop/rock (among countless other sub genres) on top of a solid base of dark techno.
The instrumentation on this album is probably what impresses me most. There’s a definite feeling that one person couldn’t have possibly created these soundscapes. This is an artist who’s taking dance music to a new level by experimenting with unusual sounds, pitches, and samples.
A juke edit of Del Sol and an alternate mix of Hydrological are included with the other nine original songs.
Even while exploring all this new territory, Gabriel Leonard (armed with a new moniker) manages to keep his first solo release extremely accessible.
